“Cut To The Feeling” In Kid Froopy’s Carly Rae Jepsen Remix

Carly Rae Jepsen‘s latest single “Cut To The Feeling” receives a refreshing, stripped-back treatment from Kid Froopy in a brand new remix.

Jepsen is, of course, best known for her bubble-gum blockbuster “Call Me Maybe” from 2012. However, she has since garnered almost mass approval for her 2014 album E•MO•TION, at once a love-letter to 80s synth-pop and a triumph of modern pop – unwavering in the honesty of its lyrics or its bold production.

The E•MO•TION sessions purportedly produced over 250 tracks which have since spawned an eight-track B-sides EP and of course “Cut To The Feeling”, released to mark its inclusion in the animated film Leap! in which Jepsen also features as a voice actor.

“It was almost too cinematic and theatrical,” Jepsen herself has stated. Kid Froopy has worked well, therefore, in dialling back the production without commodifying the overall sound, recognising that there is more to Jepsen’s repertoire than the bubblegum pop of yesteryear.
