Ethereal electronic artist HUMS is the latest signee on GRAMMY-nominated producer Mild Minds‘ imprint MOODS INTL. His first release with the label is the introspective “Fractures”—speaking to the creation of the track, HUMS shares he “really concentrated on the drums. I wanted something static and electronic like a drum machine layered with organic elements. In the end I used a bunch of samples from my library for vocals, synths, etc., and it became sort of a collective of mixing different sounds and creating everything from what I had in my collection. The best thing to work with is the few things you have rather than getting overwhelmed with so many options.“

HUMS’ fresh and subversive style drew Mild Minds to signing the Helsinki-based artist to MOODS INTL., with the “His sound felt like exactly what I was listening to, something that is hard to pigeonhole but carries influence from a range of genres from UK garage, darker electronica, to melancholy house. His production was inspiring, and we can’t wait to get more of his music out there over the next 6 months.”

For HUMS, the partnership with MOODS INTL. represents a significant milestone. “It’s a special thing to work with individuals that love music and embrace my own creative process,” he shares. “Sometimes I forget how hard it can be to manage everything alone, without getting the help and feedback from amazing people. The Finnish producer tells Saint Audio he “wanted to make a fresh playlist of all the songs I’ve been listening to for the past few weeks leading up to the release of “Fractures” on MOODS INTL.
