Afro house producer Nitefreak makes his Tomorrowland Music debut with “Ike Onu,” a melodic progressive house track.

The self-taught Zimbabwean DJ tapped seasoned West African songstress Phina Asa for soulful vocals and New York-based global sound-smith &friends for an overall scintillating, collaborative production on the percussion-laden introspective composition.
“Ike Onu” is Nitefreak’s first reunion with the producer since his remix of &friends’ single “Ode Ireti” ft. Oluwadamvic and El-Jay went viral last year.
Tinged with emotive renders and tender chanting from Phina, the house track inspires reflection amidst a spellbinding soundscape of moving chords and stirring percussion.
The song’s title translates to “stronger together” in Igbo, a West African-derived language.
“Ike Onu”’s lyrics speak of the challenges and complexity of a changing world, but singer Phina Asa says it offers an optimistic perspective for the future—one that sees its inhabitants working together for positive growth.
“I thought about the world today, and how it doesn’t look how it used to,” says Phina Asa. “We need people to support us, push us, hold us accountable, and help us grow. In life we can’t thrive on our own without any help.”
