On “Dirty Secret”, Dombresky returns to D4 D4nce with one of the year’s hottest club floorfillers.
Fresh off a 2022 that saw him collaborate with the likes of Armand Van Helden and secure a spot in the desert at Coachella for this year, Dombresky has started quick out of the gate with a single that has all the makings of a clubland staple.
The track draws from the French-born DJ’s catalogue of funky rhythms, but incorporates some darker, more atmospheric sounds that exemplify the progression in his artistry. The track is a subtle departure from Dombresky’s recent catalogue with his bright, up-tempo bouncing bass traded In for one that bubbles under the track as sharp synth stabs break through the mix.
An underrated element of this song, and much of Dombresky’s catalogue, is that it doesn’t overstay its welcome. The Frenchman constructs his music in such a way that it satiates the appetite, without overfilling you, so you always want more. “Dirty Secret” is a hot flash of seductive dancefloor wizardry and only makes you wish you could be there in the desert to witness the magic firsthand.
