Prep for HARD Summer With Our Must-Hear Playlist + Packing List

With HARD Summer quickly approaching, we’re giving you the survival guide to this quintessential EDM festival. Our playlist features must-see artists for dance and hip hop fans alike, and our packing list will ensure you have your best HARD Summer experience.

The legendary Los Angeles festival has expanded to three days this year, adding even more acts to a stacked lineup. Friday’s hip hop highlights include Megan Thee Stallion, Denzel Curry, Koffee, Masego, Saucey Santana, and Tom The Mail Man. If you’re looking for something a little more four-four, make sure to stop by sets from Vintage Culture, Nicole Moudaber, Craze, Joyryde, Montell2099, Moore Kismet, Pam Sessions, and GRiZ.

Saturday is for the wooks! Heavy trap and bass from Troyboi and ISOxo pair nicely with heady acts like Marc Rebillet, LSDream, and TOKiMONSTA . Oh, and don’t skip out on fast-rising house producers Honeyluv and LP Giobbi while you’re there.

An eclectic mix of EDM-skewing musicians makes up Sunday’s offerings. This will be a tough day for scheduling conflicts, as it features some of the most exciting talent for fans old and new. Stop by sets from 100 gecs, SIDEPIECE, Bladee, glaive, Ivy Lab, ericdoa, Wreckno, UNIIQU3, Rossy, Pangea Sound, Rohaan, and Chloé Caillet for the ultimate “saw them before they were huge” experience.

If you’ve never been to HARD Summer before, you’ll need this packing list. Trust us when we say it’s hot and loud, so be prepared! Throw some unopened sunscreen, a reusable water bottle, and ear protection (like these $15 earplugs on Amazon) in a fanny pack or small backpack to ensure your comfort on the festival grounds. Sun protection is crucial, so bring a wide-brimmed hat and sunglasses. It can get cold at night, so a lightweight jacket is recommended. You’ll want a rechargeable phone battery and charging cable for your phone too—nobody wants to have a useless phone when trying to call an Uber to head back to the hotel. For an added pro tip, refuel with electrolyte drinks like Liquid IV, which come in easily-transportable sticks. You’ll need to replenish after dancing under the hot sun, and adequate hydration can make all the difference between a great day and a miserable one.

Tickets are available starting at $89 for a one-day GA pass. For more information on HARD Summer ticket packages, visit their website.
