Following a string of standalone singles and collaborations with artists such as Tek Genesis, galva, and Mohawk Johnson, Chicago-based producer ell!psis is gearing up to release his debut EP archon on October 1st, and the instant standout is its title track.
Despite being a relative newcomer to the scene, “archon” demonstrates ell!psis’ mastery of his craft – the intro lulls you into a bit of a false sense of security with its bright synths but then it suddenly switches into something darker and more bass-heavy that wouldn’t sound out of place on one of Noisia‘s Partial compilations. That dichotomy makes for one of the strongest songs in its lane of 2021—with archon and its stellar title track ell!psis is proving that he’ll be a force to be reckoned with for many years to come.
