You can almost feel the warm rays of sunshine on your skin when you press play on Pomo‘s new single “Walking,” his first single in nearly two years. Previously, the producer spent time focused on other projects, assisting Anderson.Paak in creating his three studio albums and working with artists like Mac Miller and Chloe x Halle.
After years of producing for others, Pomo is putting out music that’s all his own. Inspired by the groovy, mellow bounce of ’70s and ’80s funk music, “Walking” is a breezy tune filled with soft percussive elements and a steady bassline that adds momentum to the otherwise easygoing arrangement. Chicago vocalist Knox Fortune adds his signature lilt to “Walking,” with a delivery that invokes a bright summer day spent strolling alongside the lakefront.
