Audien‘s Escapism tour kicked off in Chicago at Concord Music Hall. Fresh off the release of his debut album of the same name, the Escapism tour is a burst of unbridled EDM energy from Audien.
Playing a mix of old standards and new cuts from his Escapism album, Audien’s set was an effervescent time capsule of bouncy progressive house, luminescent trance, and more. In many ways, the Escapism tour set was an excellent parallel to the album, as both explore a variety of genres and styles, all while keeping the mood lifted. Audien’s set showcased his skills as a DJ as well—the crowd was attentive during buildups, and dancing during the drops. It was a fun throwback to the earlier days of EDM, back when electro house and European-style trance reigned supreme.
Audien’s performance provided a fun escape into EDM for a night, and was an experience I very much enjoyed. If Audien’s coming to your city, don’t miss him on the Escapism tour!
