In the realm of EDM music, the early 2010s is synonymous with the emergence of big room house and progressive house. During this era, a young EDM artist attained an audience that grew an affinity for his fusion of progressive house and trance music. As a pioneer of progressive trance, Audien inked major record deals with Capitol Records, Anjunabeats, and Astralwerks. The Grammy-nominated artist garnered support from the likes of Tiesto, Above & Beyond, and Armin van Buuren. Based on his streaming numbers alone, the Connecticut-based producer forged his name as a mainstay in electronic music for the last decade.
His new single “Buzzing” exemplifies his signature sound – tinges of plucky synths complementing subdued percussion. During the verses and build-up, sidechaining and rising synths add subtle nuances to create an airy ambiance. As a prominent vocalist in the EDM scene, Nevve commands the listener’s attention with her silky voice. Her dynamic ability to belt out soft tones and maintain key is unmatched by a majority of similar artists. Comparative to previous tracks, such as “Wayfarer” and “Iris”, his latest track reintroduces his bright and colorful textures in sound to critics and fans alike. He states that “I’m not reinventing the wheel, but I’m accentuating the art I’ve created for almost a decade. It’s the best form of what I’m known for.” As a different approach in distribution, Audien’s new album and single are independent releases to promote artistic freedom.
In addition to a forthcoming project, Audien also debuts his headlining tour ESCAPISM in the fall. Coupled with new production and unique set design, the EDM artist seeks to differentiate himself from the fray. As a veteran to the game, his tour schedule from November to December covers a lot of ground in a short period of time. Specifically, he’ll arrive at several major cities such as Chicago, Los Angeles, Philadelphia, and Brooklyn.
