Danny Brown Airs Out “Dirty Laundry” With Q-Tip

Danny Brown‘s airing out his “Dirty Laundry” before the release of his upcoming album Uknowhatimsayin¿, out October 4th on Warp Records. The album is executive-produced by Q-Tip—a first for the ATCQ rapper. About the album, Danny Brown shares that it’s a shift from his previous work. In fact, Brown’s focusing on his comedic abilities, telling Rolling Stone that Uknowhatimsayin¿ is his version of a “stand-up comedy album.” He added that he “wanted to create something that mixed humor with music. Something that was funny but not parody.

Based on “Dirty Laundry,” I have high hopes for the LP. Brown’s back in strong form, with a clipped, Andre 3000-reminiscent flow over a wonky beat that winks at his XXX era. In fact, “Dirty Laundry” reminds me of XXX‘s “Adderall Admiral,” the song that arguably put Brown on the mainstream’s radar. With Q-Tip producing, I’m looking forward to what he and Brown have cooked up on Uknowhatimsayin¿.
