Aptly named Slow Magic has released an exciting double-single project, Dreams Pt. 1, which debuted on Billboard Dance. His first original release of the year, Dreams Pt.1 features a lyrically driven A-side in “Daydream” and an instrumentally driven B-side called “when it rains the sun comes out too.”
Danceable yet earthy, “Daydream” features rhythmic synth and a strong female vocal to anchor the track. It’s an anthem steeped in yearning for escape. Meanwhile, the B-side “when it rains the sun comes out too” is feels like crossing that edge, the very sound of what that daydream might entail. Mystical almost, the acoustic track suggests the natural interplay of season and place.
Known for his otherworldly sounds, Slow Magic toured the world with bands including ODESZA and Giraffage. Following two album releases, he had a strong 2018 that included a storied performance at Coachella and a North American tour. If Dreams Pt. 1 is any indication, 2019 is shaping up to be a great year for Slow Magic.
