“Breaking” by SNOWMASS takes me back to the first electronic music show I’d ever been to—Rusko, at The Congress Theater here in Chicago. It has a nostalgic quality to it that serves as a balancing force between the grinding bass and simplicity of the ghostly melody that serves as this dubstep track’s topline. “Breaking” sounds like it would’ve fit in perfectly at that show back in 2011, wrapping up a young electronic music fan like me in a dreamy aural cloud.
