Essentials: “Favorite (feat. VanJess)” – Brasstracks

Brasstracks teams up with femme duo VanJess for the sultry R&B track “Favorite”. Ivan and Conor never fail to impress with the way they skillfully incorporate jazz elements into their tracks (I’m still listening to “Fever” on repeat).  The change of tempo makes the track interesting to listen to, instead of having the same bass beat for the entire song. After listening to their cover of Lil Uzi Vert’s “XO TOUR Llif3,” I didn’t think they needed vocals to make one hell of a track but Ivana and Jessica‘s harmonious vocals pair so well with the call and response of the trumpet. Conor’s lil drum snare at the end gives the track a nice jazzy finish.
