In a word, this EP is wild. I spend a lot of time on Soundcloud every day, and after a while, things can get a little homogenous. That is SO not the case with Soohan‘s Global Gate 808, a musical voyage around the world backed by grimy bass and hi-fi club energy. The Baltimore-based producer reworks tracks that range from Polish folk tunes (Warsaw Village Band) to energetic Bhangra beats (Kaur), never sacrificing the integrity or tradition from any of the original tracks. The EP is available for free download, and I recommend you grab it. It’s probably one of the most original works in electronic music you’ll hear this year – expand your horizons and sonically travel the globe with Global Gate 808.
