Chicago creator Owen Bones is always pushing the boundaries of sound, bringing a wisely nuanced and thoughtful touch to each of his projects that’s rare to hear in young producers. His first single off the Surrender! EP, “Grapefruit,” is another smart addition to this catalogue, a fearlessly triumphant call to fans to wake up and pay attention. Enlisting Myrone for that guns-blazing guitar riff, “Grapefruit” gracefully teeters between bravado bass music and intricately constructed electronica.
