Londoners Mura Masa and Shura team up for what is sure to be one of the hottest releases of Autumn.
“Love For That” is the first peek we have at what’s to come on ‘Masa’s new album, which he is currently writing and recording. The 19-year-old producer has turned out critically acclaimed work with releases Soundtrack to Death (2014) and Someday Somewhere (2015) bringing the singles “Fireflies”, “Lotus Eater” and “Lovesick Fuck” through the speakers of self-respecting music lovers everywhere.
His latest offering the production is admittedly typical of the Guernsey native: the track welcomes the listener with melancholy strings that slowly give way to a trademark xylophone-reminiscent sound. A flute part plays welcome addition to the tight production which is backed by a solid drum beat, giving you no excuse not to dance. Perhaps the best point of the track are the refreshing vocals performed by Shura; her voice is a welcome change to seemingly generic female vocals that have become oh-so-popular in electronic music. A relative newcomer, Shura has received acclaim in 2015 with a remix of her track “White Light” plugging the airwaves.
With all this on the table it’s not surprising that “Love For That” was chosen as Annie Mac’s “Hottest Track of the Week” on her show this week.
Here in the PressPlay UK office we’ll be keeping both eyes on Mura Masa in the coming months — stay tuned.
