What’s going on?: Tonight, the biggest stars in the music industry will gather together for the 57th Annual Grammy Awards. Exes will be strategically divided, domestic abuse survivors will be honored, and Kanye is set to debut a new song off his buzzed-about forthcoming album. Shia LaBeouf is presenting (hopefully doing some of the “Elastic Heart” routine.) Oh, and did I mention LL Cool J is hosting the show for the fourth time?
Who’s playing?: Some of the most anticipated performances of the night include Kanye, Rihanna, and Paul McCartney’s “FourFiveSeconds;” Beyonce’s rendition of “Take My Hand Precious Lord” to introduce John Legend and Common’s “Glory,” their original song from the film Selma; Sam Smith and Mary J. Blige’s duet; the increasingly mysterious Sia‘s solo spot; and the one that’s sparked my own curiosity – the pairing of Hozier with Annie Lennox.
Where can I watch?: If you’re like us in the UK, you can follow the live blogging of the show without having to stay up until all hours to watch the event, or you can check out the live stream from CBS if you’re in the US.
Who’s going to win?: Well, we can’t tell you who just yet. Leading the pack with six nominations each are Sam Smith, Beyonce, and Pharrell, so if I were a betting man, I would say that those three would be pretty safe choices.
Here is the list of nominees in the major categories (with my predictions for the winners in bold.) You can check the full list of nominees here.
